KJV + Strong's The Law of Atonement 1And the LORDspakeunto Mosesafterthe deathof the twosonsof Aaron,when they offeredbeforethe LORD,and died;2And the LORDsaidunto Moses,Speakunto Aaronthy brother,that he comenot at all timesinto the holy[place] withinthe vailbeforethe mercy seat,which [is] upon the ark;that he dienot: for I will appearin the cloudupon the mercyseat.3Thusshall Aaroncomeinto the holy[place]: with a youngbullockfor a sin offering,and a ramfor a burnt offering.4He shall put onthe holylinencoat,and he shall have the linenbreechesupon his flesh,and shall be girdedwith a linengirdle,and with the linenmitreshall he be attired:these[are] holygarments;therefore shall he washhis fleshin water,and [so] put them on.5And he shall takeof the congregationof the childrenof Israeltwokidsof the goatsfor a sin offering,and oneramfor a burnt offering.6And Aaronshall offerhis bullockof the sin offering,which [is] for himself,and make an atonementfor himself, and for his house.7And he shall takethe twogoats,and presentthem beforethe LORD[at] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.8And Aaronshall castlotsupon the twogoats;onelotfor the LORD,and the otherlotfor the scapegoat.9And Aaronshall bringthe goatupon which the LORD'Slotfell,and offerhim [for] a sin offering.10But the goat,on which the lotfellto be the scapegoat,shall be presentedalivebeforethe LORD,to make an atonementwith him, [and] to let him gofor a scapegoatinto the wilderness. The Sin Offering for the Priest
(Leviticus 8:14-17) 11And Aaronshall bringthe bullockof the sin offering,which [is] for himself, and shall make an atonementfor himself, and for his house,and shall killthe bullockof the sin offeringwhich [is] for himself:12And he shall takea censerfullof burningcoalsof firefrom off the altarbeforethe LORD,and his handsfullof sweetincensebeaten small,and bring[it] withinthe vail:13And he shall putthe incenseupon the firebeforethe LORD,that the cloudof the incensemay coverthe mercy seatthat [is] upon the testimony,that he dienot:14And he shall takeof the bloodof the bullock,and sprinkle[it] with his fingerupon the mercy seateastward;and beforethe mercy seatshall he sprinkleof the bloodwith his fingerseventimes. The Sin Offering for the People 15Then shall he killthe goatof the sin offering,that [is] for the people,and bringhis bloodwithinthe vail,and dowith that bloodas he didwith the bloodof the bullock,and sprinkleit upon the mercy seat,and beforethe mercy seat:16And he shall make an atonementfor the holy[place], because of the uncleannessof the childrenof Israel,and because of their transgressionsin all their sins:and so shall he dofor the tabernacleof the congregation,that remainethamong them in the midstof their uncleanness.17And there shall be no manin the tabernacleof the congregationwhen he goethin to make an atonementin the holy[place], until he come out,and have made an atonementfor himself, and for his household,and for all the congregationof Israel.18And he shall go outunto the altarthat [is] beforethe LORD,and make an atonementfor it; and shall takeof the bloodof the bullock,and of the bloodof the goat,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altarround about.19And he shall sprinkleof the bloodupon it with his fingerseventimes,and cleanseit, and hallowit from the uncleannessof the childrenof Israel. The Scapegoat 20And when he hath made an endof reconcilingthe holy[place], and the tabernacleof the congregation,and the altar,he shall bringthe livegoat:21And Aaronshall laybothhis handsupon the headof the livegoat,and confessover him all the iniquitiesof the childrenof Israel,and all their transgressionsin all their sins,puttingthem upon the headof the goat,and shall send [him] awayby the handof a fitmaninto the wilderness:22And the goatshall bearupon him all their iniquitiesunto a landnot inhabited:and he shall let gothe goatin the wilderness. 23And Aaronshall comeinto the tabernacleof the congregation,and shall put offthe linengarments,which he put onwhen he wentinto the holy[place], and shall leavethem there:24And he shall washhis fleshwith waterin the holyplace,and put onhis garments,and come forth,and offerhis burnt offering,and the burnt offeringof the people,and make an atonementfor himself, and for the people.25And the fatof the sin offeringshall he burnupon the altar.26And he that let gothe goatfor the scapegoatshall washhis clothes,and bathehis fleshin water,and afterwardcomeinto the camp.27And the bullock[for] the sin offering,and the goat[for] the sin offering,whose bloodwas brought into make atonementin the holy[place], shall [one] carry forthwithoutthe camp;and they shall burnin the firetheir skins,and their flesh,and their dung.28And he that burneththem shall washhis clothes,and bathehis fleshin water,and afterwardhe shall comeinto the camp. The Day of Atonement 29And [this] shall be a statutefor everunto you: [that] in the seventhmonth,on the tenth[day] of the month,ye shall afflictyour souls,and dono workat all, [whether it be] one of your own country,or a strangerthat sojournethamongyou:30For on that dayshall [the priest] make an atonementfor you, to cleanseyou, [that] ye may be cleanfrom all your sinsbeforethe LORD.31It [shall be] a sabbathof restunto you, and ye shall afflictyour souls,by a statutefor ever.32And the priest,whom he shall anoint,and whom he shall consecrateto minister in the priest's officein his father'sstead, shall make the atonement,and shall put onthe linenclothes,[even] the holygarments:33And he shall make an atonementfor the holysanctuary,and he shall make an atonementfor the tabernacleof the congregation,and for the altar,and he shall make an atonementfor the priests,and for all the peopleof the congregation.34And this shall be an everlastingstatuteunto you, to make an atonementfor the childrenof Israelfor all their sinsoncea year.And he didas the LORDcommandedMoses. |
