(Numbers 3:1-4) 1And Nadaband Abihu,the sonsof Aaron,tookeitherof them his censer,and putfiretherein,and putincensethereon, and offeredstrangefirebeforethe LORD,which he commandedthem not.2And there went outfirefrom the LORD,and devouredthem, and they diedbeforethe LORD. 3Then Mosessaidunto Aaron,This [is it] that the LORDspake,saying,I will be sanctifiedin them that come nighme, and beforeall the peopleI will be glorified.And Aaronheld his peace. 4And MosescalledMishaeland Elzaphan,the sonsof Uzzielthe uncleof Aaron,and saidunto them, Come near,carryyour brethrenfrom beforethe sanctuaryoutof the camp.5So they went near,and carriedthem in their coatsoutof the camp;as Moseshad said.6And Mosessaidunto Aaron,and unto Eleazarand unto Ithamar,his sons,Uncovernot your heads,neither rendyour clothes;lest ye die,and lest wrathcome upon all the people:but let your brethren,the whole houseof Israel,bewailthe burningwhich the LORDhath kindled.7And ye shall not go outfrom the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation,lest ye die:for the anointingoilof the LORD[is] upon you. And they didaccording to the wordof Moses. Restrictions for Priests 8And the LORDspakeunto Aaron,saying,9Do not drinkwinenor strong drink,thou, nor thy sonswith thee, when ye gointo the tabernacleof the congregation,lest ye die:[it shall be] a statutefor everthroughout your generations:10And that ye may put differencebetween holyand unholy,and between uncleanand clean;11And that ye may teachthe childrenof Israelall the statuteswhich the LORDhath spokenunto them by the handof Moses. 12And Mosesspakeunto Aaron,and unto Eleazarand unto Ithamar,his sonsthat were left,Takethe meat offeringthat remainethof the offeringsof the LORDmade by fire,and eatit without leavenbesidethe altar:for it [is] mostholy:13And ye shall eatit in the holyplace,because it [is] thy due,and thy sons'due,of the sacrificesof the LORDmade by fire:for so I am commanded.14And the wavebreastand heaveshouldershall ye eatin a cleanplace;thou, and thy sons,and thy daughterswith thee: for [they be] thy due,and thy sons'due,[which] are givenout of the sacrificesof peace offeringsof the childrenof Israel.15The heaveshoulderand the wavebreastshall they bringwith the offerings made by fireof the fat,to wave[it for] a wave offeringbeforethe LORD;and it shall be thine, and thy sons'with thee, by a statutefor ever;as the LORDhath commanded. 16And Mosesdiligentlysoughtthe goatof the sin offering,and, behold, it was burnt:and he was angrywith Eleazarand Ithamar,the sonsof Aaron[which were] left[alive], saying,17Wherefore have ye not eatenthe sin offeringin the holyplace,seeing it [is] mostholy,and [God] hath givenit you to bearthe iniquityof the congregation,to make atonementfor them beforethe LORD?18Behold,the bloodof it was not broughtin withinthe holy[place]: ye should indeedhave eatenit in the holy[place], as I commanded.19And Aaronsaidunto Moses,Behold, this dayhave they offeredtheir sin offeringand their burnt offeringbeforethe LORD;and such things have befallenme: and [if] I had eatenthe sin offeringto day,should it have been acceptedin the sightof the LORD?20And when Mosesheard[that], he was content. |
