Judgments and Promises
1I am soughtof [them that] askednot[for me]; I am foundof [them that] soughtme not:I said,Behold me, behold me, unto a nation[that] was not calledby my name.
2I have spread outmy handsall the dayunto a rebelliouspeople,which walkethin a way[that was] not good,aftertheir own thoughts;
3A peoplethat provoketh me to angercontinuallyto my face;that sacrificethin gardens,and burneth incenseupon altars of brick;
4Which remainamong the graves,and lodgein the monuments,which eatswine'sflesh,and brothof abominable[things is in] their vessels;
5Which say,Standby thyself, come not nearto me; for I am holierthan thou. These [are] a smokein my nose,a firethat burnethall the day.
6Behold, [it is] writtenbeforeme: I will not keep silence,but will recompense,even recompenseinto their bosom,
7Your iniquities,and the iniquitiesof your fatherstogether,saiththe LORD,which have burned incenseupon the mountains,and blasphemedme upon the hills:therefore will I measuretheir formerworkinto their bosom.
8Thus saiththe LORD,As the new wineis foundin the cluster,and [one] saith,Destroyit not; for a blessing[is] in it: so will I dofor my servants'sakes, that I may not destroythem all.
9And I will bring fortha seedout of Jacob,and out of Judahan inheritorof my mountains:and mine electshall inheritit, and my servantsshall dwellthere.
10And Sharonshall be a foldof flocks,and the valleyof Achora place for the herdsto lie down in,for my peoplethat have soughtme.
11But ye [are] they that forsakethe LORD,that forgetmy holymountain,that preparea tablefor that troop,and that furnishthe drink offeringunto that number.
12Therefore will I numberyou to the sword,and ye shall all bow downto the slaughter:because when I called,ye did not answer;when I spake,ye did not hear;but didevilbefore mine eyes,and did choose[that] wherein I delightednot.
13Therefore thus saiththe LordGOD,Behold, my servantsshall eat,but ye shall be hungry:behold, my servantsshall drink,but ye shall be thirsty:behold, my servantsshall rejoice,but ye shall be ashamed:
14Behold, my servantsshall singfor joyof heart,but ye shall cryfor sorrowof heart,and shall howlfor vexationof spirit.
15And ye shall leaveyour namefor a curseunto my chosen:for the LordGODshall slaythee, and callhis servantsby anothername:
16That he who blessethhimself in the earthshall blesshimself in the Godof truth;and he that swearethin the earthshall swearby the Godof truth;because the formertroublesare forgotten,and because they are hidfrom mine eyes.
New Heavens and Earth
17For, behold, I createnewheavensand a newearth:and the formershall not be remembered,nor comeinto mind.
18But be ye gladand rejoicefor ever[in that] which I create:for, behold, I createJerusalema rejoicing,and her peoplea joy.
19And I will rejoicein Jerusalem,and joyin my people:and the voiceof weepingshall be no more heardin her, nor the voiceof crying.
20There shall be no more thence an infantof days,nor an old manthat hath not filledhis days:for the childshall diean hundredyearsold;but the sinner[being] an hundredyearsoldshall be accursed.
21And they shall buildhouses,and inhabit[them]; and they shall plantvineyards,and eatthe fruitof them.
22They shall not build,and anotherinhabit;they shall not plant,and anothereat:for as the daysof a tree[are] the daysof my people,and mine electshall long enjoythe workof their hands.
23They shall not labourin vain,nor bring forthfor trouble;for they [are] the seedof the blessedof the LORD,and their offspringwith them.
24And it shall come to pass, that before they call,I will answer;and while they are yet speaking,I will hear.25The wolfand the lambshall feedtogether,and the lionshall eatstrawlike the bullock:and dust[shall be] the serpent'smeat.They shall not hurtnor destroyin all my holymountain,saiththe LORD.
