KJV + Strong's God's Help to Israel 1Keep silencebefore me, O islands;and let the peoplerenew[their] strength:let them come near;then let them speak:let us come neartogetherto judgment. 2Who raised upthe righteous[man] from the east,calledhim to his foot,gavethe nationsbeforehim, and made [him] ruleover kings?he gave[them] as the dustto his sword,[and] as drivenstubbleto his bow. 3He pursuedthem, [and] passedsafely;[even] by the way[that] he had not gonewith his feet. 4Who hath wroughtand done[it], callingthe generationsfrom the beginning?I the LORD,the first,and with the last;I [am] he. 5The islessaw[it], and feared;the endsof the earthwere afraid,drew near,and came. 6They helpedevery onehis neighbour;and [every one] saidto his brother,Be of good courage. 7So the carpenterencouragedthe goldsmith,[and] he that smootheth[with] the hammerhim that smotethe anvil,saying,It [is] readyfor the sodering:and he fastenedit with nails,[that] it should not be moved. 8But thou, Israel,[art] my servant,Jacobwhom I have chosen,the seedof Abrahammy friend. 9[Thou] whom I have takenfrom the endsof the earth,and calledthee from the chief menthereof, and saidunto thee, Thou [art] my servant;I have chosenthee, and not cast thee away. 10Fearthou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed;for I [am] thy God:I will strengthenthee; yea, I will helpthee; yea, I will upholdthee with the right handof my righteousness. 11Behold, all they that were incensedagainst thee shall be ashamedand confounded:they shall be as nothing; and theythat strivewith thee shall perish. 12Thou shalt seekthem, and shalt not findthem, [even] themthat contendedwith thee: they that waragainst thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13For I the LORDthy Godwill holdthy right hand,sayingunto thee, Fearnot; I will helpthee. 14Fearnot, thou wormJacob,[and] ye menof Israel;I will helpthee, saiththe LORD,and thy redeemer,the Holy Oneof Israel. 15Behold, I will makethee a newsharpthreshinginstrument havingteeth:thou shalt threshthe mountains,and beat [them] small,and shalt makethe hillsas chaff. 16Thou shalt fanthem, and the windshall carry them away,and the whirlwindshall scatterthem: and thou shalt rejoicein the LORD,[and] shalt gloryin the Holy Oneof Israel. 17[When] the poorand needyseekwater,and [there is] none, [and] their tonguefailethfor thirst,I the LORDwill hearthem, I the Godof Israelwill not forsakethem. 18I will openriversin high places,and fountainsin the midstof the valleys:I will makethe wildernessa poolof water,and the drylandspringsof water. 19I will plantin the wildernessthe cedar,the shittah tree,and the myrtle,and the oiltree;I will setin the desertthe fir tree,[and] the pine,and the box treetogether: 20That they may see,and know,and consider,and understandtogether,that the handof the LORDhath donethis, and the Holy Oneof Israelhath createdit. Meaningless Idols 21Produceyour cause,saiththe LORD;bring forthyour strong[reasons], saiththe Kingof Jacob. 22Let them bring [them] forth,and shewus what shall happen:let them shewthe former things,what they [be], that we may considerthem, and knowthe latter endof them; or declareus things for to come. 23Shewthe things that are to comehereafter,that we may knowthat ye [are] gods:yea, do good,or do evil,that we may be dismayed,and behold[it] together. 24Behold, ye [are] of nothing,and your workof nought:an abomination[is he that] choosethyou. 25I have raised up[one] from the north,and he shall come:from the risingof the sunshall he callupon my name:and he shall comeupon princesas [upon] morter,and as the pottertreadethclay. 26Who hath declaredfrom the beginning,that we may know?and beforetime,that we may say,[He is] righteous?yea, [there is] none that sheweth,yea, [there is] none that declareth,yea, [there is] none that hearethyour words. 27The first[shall say] to Zion,Behold,beholdthem: and I will giveto Jerusalemone that bringeth good tidings. 28For I beheld,and [there was] no man;even among them, and [there was] no counsellor,that, when I askedof them, could answera word. 29Behold, they [are] all vanity;their works[are] nothing:their molten images[are] windand confusion. |
