God's Help to Israel

Keep silencebefore me, O islands;and let the peoplerenew[their] strength:let them come near;then let them speak:let us come neartogetherto judgment.

Who raised upthe righteous[man] from the east, calledhim to his foot, gavethe nationsbeforehim, and made [him] ruleover kings?he gave[them] as the dustto his sword,[and] as drivenstubbleto his bow.

He pursuedthem, [and] passedsafely;[even] by the way[that] he had not gonewith his feet.

Who hath wroughtand done[it], callingthe generationsfrom the beginning?I the LORD,the first, and with the last;I [am] he.

The islessaw[it], and feared;the endsof the earthwere afraid, drew near, and came.

They helpedevery onehis neighbour;and [every one] saidto his brother,Be of good courage.

So the carpenterencouragedthe goldsmith,[and] he that smootheth[with] the hammerhim that smotethe anvil, saying,It [is] readyfor the sodering:and he fastenedit with nails,[that] it should not be moved.

But thou, Israel,[art] my servant,Jacobwhom I have chosen, the seedof Abrahammy friend.

[Thou] whom I have takenfrom the endsof the earth, and calledthee from the chief menthereof, and saidunto thee, Thou [art] my servant;I have chosenthee, and not cast thee away.

Fearthou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed;for I [am] thy God:I will strengthenthee; yea, I will helpthee; yea, I will upholdthee with the right handof my righteousness.

Behold, all they that were incensedagainst thee shall be ashamedand confounded:they shall be as nothing; and theythat strivewith thee shall perish.

Thou shalt seekthem, and shalt not findthem, [even] themthat contendedwith thee: they that waragainst thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

For I the LORDthy Godwill holdthy right hand, sayingunto thee, Fearnot; I will helpthee.

Fearnot, thou wormJacob,[and] ye menof Israel;I will helpthee, saiththe LORD,and thy redeemer, the Holy Oneof Israel.

Behold, I will makethee a newsharpthreshinginstrument havingteeth:thou shalt threshthe mountains, and beat [them] small, and shalt makethe hillsas chaff.

Thou shalt fanthem, and the windshall carry them away, and the whirlwindshall scatterthem: and thou shalt rejoicein the LORD,[and] shalt gloryin the Holy Oneof Israel.

[When] the poorand needyseekwater, and [there is] none, [and] their tonguefailethfor thirst,I the LORDwill hearthem, I the Godof Israelwill not forsakethem.

I will openriversin high places, and fountainsin the midstof the valleys:I will makethe wildernessa poolof water, and the drylandspringsof water.

I will plantin the wildernessthe cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oiltree;I will setin the desertthe fir tree,[and] the pine, and the box treetogether:

That they may see,and know, and consider, and understandtogether, that the handof the LORDhath donethis, and the Holy Oneof Israelhath createdit.

Meaningless Idols

Produceyour cause, saiththe LORD;bring forthyour strong[reasons], saiththe Kingof Jacob.

Let them bring [them] forth, and shewus what shall happen:let them shewthe former things, what they [be], that we may considerthem, and knowthe latter endof them; or declareus things for to come.

Shewthe things that are to comehereafter, that we may knowthat ye [are] gods:yea, do good,or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold[it] together.

Behold, ye [are] of nothing, and your workof nought:an abomination[is he that] choosethyou.

I have raised up[one] from the north, and he shall come:from the risingof the sunshall he callupon my name:and he shall comeupon princesas [upon] morter, and as the pottertreadethclay.

Who hath declaredfrom the beginning, that we may know?and beforetime, that we may say,[He is] righteous?yea, [there is] none that sheweth, yea, [there is] none that declareth, yea, [there is] none that hearethyour words.

The first[shall say] to Zion,Behold, beholdthem: and I will giveto Jerusalemone that bringeth good tidings.

For I beheld, and [there was] no man;even among them, and [there was] no counsellor, that, when I askedof them, could answera word.

Behold, they [are] all vanity;their works[are] nothing:their molten images[are] windand confusion.
