Song of Trust in God's Provision
1In that dayshall this songbe sungin the landof Judah;We have a strongcity;salvationwill [God] appoint[for] wallsand bulwarks.
2Openye the gates,that the righteousnationwhich keepeththe truthmay enter in.
3Thou wilt keep[him] in perfectpeace,[whose] mind[is] stayed[on thee]: because he trustethin thee.
4Trustye in the LORDfor ever:for in the LORDJEHOVAH[is] everlastingstrength:
5For he bringeth downthem that dwellon high;the loftycity,he layeth it low;he layeth it low,[even] to the ground;he bringethit [even] to the dust.
6The footshall tread it down,[even] the feetof the poor,[and] the stepsof the needy.
7The wayof the just[is] uprightness:thou, most upright,dost weighthe pathof the just.
8Yea, in the wayof thy judgments,O LORD,have we waitedfor thee; the desireof [our] soul[is] to thy name,and to the remembranceof thee.
9With my soulhave I desiredthee in the night;yea, with my spiritwithinme will I seek thee early:for when thy judgments[are] in the earth,the inhabitantsof the worldwill learnrighteousness.
10Let favour be shewedto the wicked,[yet] will he notlearnrighteousness:in the landof uprightnesswill he deal unjustly,and will notbeholdthe majestyof the LORD.
11LORD,[when] thy handis lifted up,they will not see:[but] they shall see,and be ashamedfor [their] envyat the people;yea, the fireof thine enemiesshall devourthem.
12LORD,thou wilt ordainpeacefor us: for thou also hast wroughtall our worksin us.
13O LORDour God,[other] lordsbesidethee have had dominionover us: [but] by thee only will we make mentionof thy name.
14[They are] dead,they shall not live;[they are] deceased,they shall not rise:therefore hast thou visitedand destroyedthem, and made all their memoryto perish.
15Thou hast increasedthe nation,O LORD,thou hast increasedthe nation:thou art glorified:thou hadst removed [it] far[unto] all the endsof the earth.
16LORD,in troublehave they visitedthee, they poured outa prayer[when] thy chastening[was] upon them.
17Likeas a woman with child,[that] draweth nearthe time of her delivery,is in pain,[and] crieth outin her pangs;so have we been in thy sight,O LORD.
18We have been with child,we have been in pain,we have as it werebrought forthwind;we have not wroughtany deliverancein the earth;neitherhave the inhabitantsof the worldfallen.
19Thy dead[men] shall live,[together with] my dead bodyshall they arise.Awakeand sing,ye that dwellin dust:for thy dew[is as] the dewof herbs,and the earthshall cast outthe dead.
20Come,my people,enterthou into thy chambers,and shutthy doorsabout thee: hidethyself as it were for a littlemoment,until the indignationbe overpast.
21For, behold, the LORDcometh outof his placeto punishthe inhabitantsof the earthfor their iniquity:the earthalso shall discloseher blood,and shall no more coverher slain.
