Rejoicenot, O Israel, for joy,as [other] people:for thou hast gone a whoringfrom thy God,thou hast loveda rewardupon every cornfloor.
The floorand the winepressshall not feedthem, and the new wineshall failin her.
They shall not dwellin the LORD'Sland;but Ephraimshall returnto Egypt, and they shall eatunclean[things] in Assyria.
They shall not offerwine[offerings] to the LORD,neither shall they be pleasingunto him: their sacrifices[shall be] unto them as the breadof mourners;all that eatthereof shall be polluted:for their breadfor their soulshall not comeinto the houseof the LORD.
What will ye doin the solemnday, and in the dayof the feastof the LORD?
For, lo, they are gonebecause of destruction:Egyptshall gather them up,Memphisshall burythem: the pleasant[places] for their silver, nettlesshall possessthem: thorns[shall be] in their tabernacles.
The daysof visitationare come,the daysof recompenceare come;Israelshall know[it]: the prophet[is] a fool,the spiritualman[is] mad,for the multitudeof thine iniquity,and the greathatred.
The watchmanof Ephraim[was] with my God:[but] the prophet[is] a snareof a fowlerin all his ways,[and] hatredin the houseof his God.
They have deeplycorrupted[themselves], as in the daysof Gibeah:[therefore] he will remembertheir iniquity,he will visittheir sins.
I foundIsraellike grapesin the wilderness;I sawyour fathersas the firstripein the fig treeat her first time:[but] they wentto Baalpeor, and separatedthemselves unto [that] shame;and [their] abominationswere according as they loved.
[As for] Ephraim, their gloryshall fly awaylike a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
Though they bring uptheir children, yet will I bereavethem, [that there shall] not [be] a man[left]: yea, woealso to them when I departfrom them!
Ephraim,as I sawTyrus,[is] plantedin a pleasant place:but Ephraimshall bring forthhis childrento the murderer.
Givethem, O LORD:what wilt thou give?givethem a miscarryingwomband drybreasts.
All their wickedness[is] in Gilgal:for there I hatedthem: for the wickednessof their doingsI will drive them outof mine house,I will lovethem no more:all their princes[are] revolters.
Ephraimis smitten, their rootis dried up,they shall bearno fruit:yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay[even] the beloved[fruit] of their womb.
My Godwill cast them away, because they did not hearkenunto him: and they shall be wanderersamong the nations.
