(1 Chronicles 1:5-7)

1Now these [are] the generationsof the sonsof Noah,Shem,Ham,and Japheth:and unto them were sonsbornafterthe flood.

2The sonsof Japheth;Gomer,and Magog,and Madai,and Javan,and Tubal,and Meshech,and Tiras.3And the sonsof Gomer;Ashkenaz,and Riphath,and Togarmah.4And the sonsof Javan;Elishah,and Tarshish,Kittim,and Dodanim.5By these were the islesof the Gentilesdivided intheir lands;every oneafter his tongue,after their families,in their nations.

The Hamites

6And the sonsof Ham;Cush,and Mizraim,and Phut,and Canaan.7And the sonsof Cush;Seba,and Havilah,and Sabtah,and Raamah,and Sabtecha:and the sonsof Raamah;Sheba,and Dedan.8And CushbegatNimrod:he beganto bea mighty onein the earth.9He was a mightyhunterbeforethe LORD:whereforeit is said,Even as Nimrodthe mightyhunterbeforethe LORD.10And the beginningof his kingdomwas Babel,and Erech,and Accad,and Calneh,in the landof Shinar.11Out of that landwent forthAsshur,and buildedNineveh,and the cityRehoboth,and Calah,12And Resenbetween Ninevehand Calah:the same [is] a greatcity.13And MizraimbegatLudim,and Anamim,and Lehabim,and Naphtuhim,14And Pathrusim,and Casluhim,(out of whom camePhilistim,) and Caphtorim.

15And CanaanbegatSidonhis firstborn,and Heth,16And the Jebusite,and the Amorite,and the Girgasite,17And the Hivite,and the Arkite,and the Sinite,18And the Arvadite,and the Zemarite,and the Hamathite:and afterwardwere the familiesof the Canaanitesspread abroad.19And the borderof the Canaaniteswas from Sidon,as thou comestto Gerar,unto Gaza;as thou goest,unto Sodom,and Gomorrah,and Admah,and Zeboim,even unto Lasha.20These [are] the sonsof Ham,after their families,after their tongues,in their countries,[and] in their nations.

The Semites

(1 Chronicles 1:17-27)

21Unto Shemalso, the fatherof all the childrenof Eber,the brotherof Japheththe elder,even to him were [children] born.22The childrenof Shem;Elam,and Asshur,and Arphaxad,and Lud,and Aram.23And the childrenof Aram;Uz,and Hul,and Gether,and Mash.24And ArphaxadbegatSalah;and SalahbegatEber.25And unto Eberwere borntwosons:the nameof one[was] Peleg;for in his dayswas the earthdivided;and his brother'sname[was] Joktan.26And JoktanbegatAlmodad,and Sheleph,and Hazarmaveth,and Jerah,27And Hadoram,and Uzal,and Diklah,28And Obal,and Abimael,and Sheba,29And Ophir,and Havilah,and Jobab:all these [were] the sonsof Joktan.30And their dwellingwas from Mesha,as thou goestunto Sephara mountof the east.31These [are] the sonsof Shem,after their families,after their tongues,in their lands,after their nations.

32These [are] the familiesof the sonsof Noah,after their generations,in their nations:and by these were the nationsdividedin the earthafterthe flood.
