KJV + Strong's Judgment against Idolatry
(Deuteronomy 4:15-31;Deuteronomy 12:29-32) 1And the wordof the LORDcame unto me, saying,2Sonof man,setthy facetoward the mountainsof Israel,and prophesyagainst them,3And say,Ye mountainsof Israel,hearthe wordof the LordGOD;Thus saiththe LordGODto the mountains,and to the hills,to the rivers,and to the valleys;Behold, I, [even] I, will bringa swordupon you, and I will destroyyour high places.4And your altarsshall be desolate,and your imagesshall be broken:and I will cast downyour slain[men] beforeyour idols.5And I will laythe dead carcasesof the childrenof Israelbeforetheir idols;and I will scatteryour bonesround aboutyour altars.6In all your dwellingplacesthe citiesshall be laid waste,and the high placesshall be desolate;that your altarsmay be laid wasteand made desolate,and your idolsmay be brokenand cease,and your imagesmay be cut down,and your worksmay be abolished.7And the slainshall fallin the midstof you, and ye shall knowthat I [am] the LORD. A Remnant Shall Be Blessed 8Yet will I leave a remnant,that ye may have [some] that shall escapethe swordamong the nations,when ye shall be scatteredthrough the countries.9And they that escapeof you shall rememberme among the nationswhither they shall be carried captives,because I am brokenwith their whorishheart,which hath departedfrom me, and with their eyes,which go a whoringaftertheir idols:and they shall lothethemselvesfor the evilswhich they have committedin all their abominations.10And they shall knowthat I [am] the LORD,[and that] I have not saidin vainthat I would dothis evilunto them. 11Thus saiththe LordGOD;Smitewith thine hand,and stampwith thy foot,and say,Alasfor all the evilabominationsof the houseof Israel!for they shall fallby the sword,by the famine,and by the pestilence.12He that is far offshall dieof the pestilence;and he that is nearshall fallby the sword;and he that remainethand is besiegedshall dieby the famine:thus will I accomplishmy furyupon them.13Then shall ye knowthat I [am] the LORD,when their slain[men] shall be amongtheir idolsround abouttheir altars,upon every highhill,in all the topsof the mountains,and under every greentree,and under every thickoak,the placewhere they did offersweetsavourto all their idols.14So will I stretch outmy handupon them, and makethe landdesolate,yea, more desolatethan the wildernesstoward Diblath,in all their habitations:and they shall knowthat I [am] the LORD. |
