(Deuteronomy 10:1-11) 1And the LORDsaidunto Moses,Hewthee twotablesof stonelike unto the first:and I will writeupon [these] tablesthe wordsthat were in the firsttables,which thou brakest.2And be readyin the morning,and come upin the morningunto mountSinai,and presentthyself there to me in the topof the mount.3And no manshall come upwith thee, neitherlet any manbe seenthroughout all the mount;neither let the flocksnor herdsfeedbeforethat mount.4And he hewedtwotablesof stonelike unto the first;and Mosesrose up earlyin the morning,and went upunto mountSinai,as the LORDhad commandedhim, and tookin his handthe twotablesof stone.5And the LORDdescendedin the cloud,and stoodwith him there, and proclaimedthe nameof the LORD.6And the LORDpassed bybefore him,and proclaimed,The LORD,The LORDGod,mercifuland gracious,longsuffering,and abundantin goodnessand truth,7Keepingmercyfor thousands,forgivinginiquityand transgressionand sin,and that will by no meansclear[the guilty]; visitingthe iniquityof the fathersupon the children,and upon the children'schildren, unto the thirdand to the fourth[generation].8And Mosesmade haste,and bowed his headtoward the earth,and worshipped.9And he said,If now I have foundgracein thy sight,O Lord,let my Lord,I pray thee, goamongus; for it [is] a stiffneckedpeople;and pardonour iniquityand our sin,and take us for thine inheritance. (Joshua 8:30-35) 10And he said,Behold, I makea covenant:before all thy peopleI will domarvels,such as have not been donein all the earth,nor in any nation:and all the peopleamongwhich thou [art] shall seethe workof the LORD:for it [is] a terrible thingthat I will dowith thee. 11Observethou that which I commandthee this day:behold, I drive outbeforethee the Amorite,and the Canaanite,and the Hittite,and the Perizzite,and the Hivite,and the Jebusite.12Take heedto thyself, lest thou makea covenantwith the inhabitantsof the landwhither thou goest,lest it be for a snarein the midstof thee:13But ye shall destroytheir altars,breaktheir images,and cut downtheir groves:14For thou shalt worshipno othergod:for the LORD,whose name[is] Jealous,[is] a jealousGod:15Lest thou makea covenantwith the inhabitantsof the land,and they go a whoringaftertheir gods,and do sacrificeunto their gods,and [one] callthee, and thou eatof his sacrifice;16And thou takeof their daughtersunto thy sons,and their daughtersgo a whoringaftertheir gods,and makethy sonsgo a whoringaftertheir gods.17Thou shalt makethee no moltengods. 18The feastof unleavened breadshalt thou keep.Sevendaysthou shalt eatunleavened bread,as I commandedthee, in the timeof the monthAbib:for in the monthAbibthou camest outfrom Egypt. 19All that openeththe matrix[is] mine; and every firstlingamong thy cattle,[whether] oxor sheep,[that is male].20But the firstlingof an assthou shalt redeemwith a lamb:and if thou redeem[him] not, then shalt thou break his neck.All the firstbornof thy sonsthou shalt redeem.And none shall appearbeforeme empty. 21Sixdaysthou shalt work,but on the seventhdaythou shalt rest:in earing timeand in harvestthou shalt rest.22And thou shalt observethe feastof weeks,of the firstfruitsof wheatharvest,and the feastof ingatheringat the year'send.23Thricein the yearshall all your men childrenappearbeforethe LordGOD,the Godof Israel.24For I will cast outthe nationsbeforethee, and enlargethy borders:neither shall any mandesirethy land,when thou shalt go upto appearbeforethe LORDthy Godthricein the year. 25Thou shalt not offerthe bloodof my sacrificewith leaven;neither shall the sacrificeof the feastof the passoverbe leftunto the morning. 26The firstof the firstfruitsof thy landthou shalt bringunto the houseof the LORDthy God.Thou shalt not seethea kidin his mother'smilk. 27And the LORDsaidunto Moses,Writethou these words:for after the tenorof these wordsI have madea covenantwith thee and with Israel.28And he was there with the LORDfortydaysand fortynights;he did neither eatbread,nor drinkwater.And he wroteupon the tablesthe wordsof the covenant,the tencommandments. (2 Corinthians 3:7-18) 29And it came to pass, when Mosescame downfrom mountSinaiwith the twotablesof testimonyin Moses'hand,when he came downfrom the mount,that Moseswistnot that the skinof his faceshonewhile he talkedwith him.30And when Aaronand all the childrenof IsraelsawMoses,behold, the skinof his faceshone;and they were afraidto come nighhim.31And Mosescalledunto them; and Aaronand all the rulersof the congregationreturnedunto him: and Mosestalkedwith them.32And afterwardall the childrenof Israelcame nigh:and he gave them in commandmentall that the LORDhad spokenwith him in mountSinai.33And [till] Moseshad donespeakingwith them, he puta vailon his face.34But when Moseswent inbeforethe LORDto speakwith him, he tookthe vailoff,until he came out.And he came out,and spakeunto the childrenof Israel[that] which he was commanded.35And the childrenof Israelsawthe faceof Moses,that the skinof Moses'faceshone:and Mosesputthe vailupon his faceagain,until he wentin to speakwith him. |
