Consecration of the Priests
(Leviticus 8:1-13)
1And this [is] the thingthat thou shalt dounto them to hallowthem, to minister unto me in the priest's office:Takeoneyoungbullock,and tworamswithout blemish,2And unleavenedbread,and cakesunleavenedtemperedwith oil,and wafersunleavenedanointedwith oil:[of] wheatenflourshalt thou makethem.3And thou shalt putthem into onebasket,and bringthem in the basket,with the bullockand the tworams.4And Aaronand his sonsthou shalt bringunto the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation,and shalt washthem with water.5And thou shalt takethe garments,and putupon Aaronthe coat,and the robeof the ephod,and the ephod,and the breastplate,and girdhim with the curious girdleof the ephod:6And thou shalt putthe mitreupon his head,and putthe holycrownupon the mitre.7Then shalt thou takethe anointingoil,and pour[it] upon his head,and anointhim.8And thou shalt bringhis sons,and putcoatsupon them.9And thou shalt girdthem with girdles,Aaronand his sons,and putthe bonnetson them: and the priest's officeshall be theirs for a perpetualstatute:and thou shalt consecrateAaronand his sons.
Order of the Sacrifices
(Leviticus 8:22-36)
10And thou shalt cause a bullockto be broughtbeforethe tabernacleof the congregation:and Aaronand his sonsshall puttheir handsupon the headof the bullock.11And thou shalt killthe bullockbeforethe LORD,[by] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.12And thou shalt takeof the bloodof the bullock,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altarwith thy finger,and pourall the bloodbesidethe bottomof the altar.13And thou shalt takeall the fatthat covereththe inwards,and the caul[that is] above the liver,and the twokidneys,and the fatthat [is] upon them, and burn[them] upon the altar.14But the fleshof the bullock,and his skin,and his dung,shalt thou burnwith firewithoutthe camp:it [is] a sin offering.
15Thou shalt also takeoneram;and Aaronand his sonsshall puttheir handsupon the headof the ram.16And thou shalt slaythe ram,and thou shalt takehis blood,and sprinkle[it] round aboutupon the altar.17And thou shalt cutthe ramin pieces,and washthe inwardsof him, and his legs,and put[them] unto his pieces,and unto his head.18And thou shalt burnthe whole ramupon the altar:it [is] a burnt offeringunto the LORD:it [is] a sweetsavour,an offering made by fireunto the LORD.
19And thou shalt takethe otherram;and Aaronand his sonsshall puttheir handsupon the headof the ram.20Then shalt thou killthe ram,and takeof his blood,and put[it] upon the tipof the right earof Aaron,and upon the tipof the rightearof his sons,and upon the thumbof their righthand,and upon the great toeof their rightfoot,and sprinklethe bloodupon the altarround about.21And thou shalt takeof the bloodthat [is] upon the altar,and of the anointingoil,and sprinkle[it] upon Aaron,and upon his garments,and upon his sons,and upon the garmentsof his sonswith him: and he shall be hallowed,and his garments,and his sons,and his sons'garmentswith him.
22Also thou shalt takeof the ramthe fatand the rump,and the fatthat covereththe inwards,and the caul[above] the liver,and the twokidneys,and the fatthat [is] upon them, and the rightshoulder;for it [is] a ramof consecration:23And oneloafof bread,and onecakeof oiledbread, and onewaferout of the basketof the unleavened breadthat [is] beforethe LORD:24And thou shalt putall in the handsof Aaron,and in the handsof his sons;and shalt wavethem [for] a wave offeringbeforethe LORD.25And thou shalt receivethem of their hands,and burn[them] upon the altarfor a burnt offering,for a sweetsavourbeforethe LORD:it [is] an offering made by fireunto the LORD.
26And thou shalt takethe breastof the ramof Aaron'sconsecration,and waveit [for] a wave offeringbeforethe LORD:and it shall be thy part.27And thou shalt sanctifythe breastof the wave offering,and the shoulderof the heave offering,which is waved,and which is heaved up,of the ramof the consecration,[even] of [that] which[is] for Aaron,and of [that] which is for his sons:28And it shall be Aaron'sand his sons'by a statutefor everfrom the childrenof Israel:for it [is] an heave offering:and it shall be an heave offeringfrom the childrenof Israelof the sacrificeof their peace offerings,[even] their heave offeringunto the LORD.
29And the holygarmentsof Aaronshall be his sons'afterhim, to be anointedtherein, and to be consecratedin them.30[And] that sonthat is priestin his stead shall putthem on sevendays,when he comethinto the tabernacleof the congregationto ministerin the holy[place].
Food for the Priests
31And thou shalt takethe ramof the consecration,and seethehis fleshin the holyplace.32And Aaronand his sonsshall eatthe fleshof the ram,and the breadthat [is] in the basket,[by] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.33And they shall eatthose things wherewith the atonement was made,to consecrate[and] to sanctifythem: but a strangershall not eat[thereof], because they [are] holy.34And if ought of the fleshof the consecrations,or of the bread,remainunto the morning,then thou shalt burnthe remainderwith fire:it shall not be eaten,because it [is] holy.
35And thus shalt thou dounto Aaron,and to his sons,according to all [things] which I have commandedthee: sevendaysshalt thou consecratethem.36And thou shalt offerevery daya bullock[for] a sin offeringfor atonement:and thou shalt cleansethe altar,when thou hast made an atonementfor it, and thou shalt anointit, to sanctifyit.37Sevendaysthou shalt make an atonementfor the altar,and sanctifyit; and it shall be an altarmost holy:whatsoever toucheththe altarshall be holy.
The Daily Offerings
(Numbers 28:1-8)
38Now this [is that] which thou shalt offerupon the altar;twolambsof the firstyeardayby daycontinually.39The onelambthou shalt offerin the morning;and the otherlambthou shalt offerat even:40And with the onelamba tenthdeal of flourmingledwith the fourth partof an hinof beatenoil;and the fourth partof an hinof wine[for] a drink offering.41And the otherlambthou shalt offerat even,and shalt dothereto according to the meat offeringof the morning,and according to the drink offeringthereof, for a sweetsavour,an offering made by fireunto the LORD.42[This shall be] a continualburnt offeringthroughout your generations[at] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregationbeforethe LORD:where I will meetyou, to speakthere unto thee.43And there I will meetwith the childrenof Israel,and [the tabernacle] shall be sanctifiedby my glory.44And I will sanctifythe tabernacleof the congregation,and the altar:I will sanctifyalso both Aaronand his sons,to minister to me in the priest's office.
God will Dwell Among the People
(2 Corinthians 6:14-18)
45And I will dwellamongthe childrenof Israel,and will be their God.46And they shall knowthat I [am] the LORDtheir God,that brought them forthout of the landof Egypt,that I may dwellamongthem: I [am] the LORDtheir God.
