Remember the Lord Your God
1All the commandmentswhich I commandthee this dayshall ye observeto do,that ye may live,and multiply,and go inand possessthe landwhich the LORDswareunto your fathers.2And thou shalt rememberall the waywhich the LORDthy Godledthee these fortyyearsin the wilderness,to humblethee, [and] to provethee, to knowwhat [was] in thine heart,whether thou wouldest keephis commandments,or no.3And he humbledthee, and suffered thee to hunger,and fedthee with manna,which thou knewestnot, neither did thy fathersknow;that he might make thee knowthat mandoth not liveby breadonly,but by every [word] that proceedethout of the mouthof the LORDdoth manlive.4Thy raimentwaxed not oldupon thee, neither did thy footswell,these fortyyears.5Thou shalt also considerinthine heart,that, as a manchastenethhis son,[so] the LORDthy Godchasteneththee.6Therefore thou shalt keepthe commandmentsof the LORDthy God,to walkin his ways,and to fearhim.7For the LORDthy Godbringeththee into a goodland,a landof brooksof water,of fountainsand depthsthat spring outof valleysand hills;8A landof wheat,and barley,and vines,and fig trees,and pomegranates;a landof oilolive,and honey;9A landwhereinthou shalt eatbreadwithoutscarceness,thou shalt not lackany [thing] in it; a landwhose stones[are] iron,and out of whose hillsthou mayest digbrass.10When thou hast eatenand art full,then thou shalt blessthe LORDthy Godfor the goodlandwhich he hath giventhee.
11Bewarethat thou forgetnot the LORDthy God,in not keepinghis commandments,and his judgments,and his statutes,which I commandthee this day:12Lest [when] thou hast eatenand art full,and hast builtgoodlyhouses,and dwelt[therein];13And [when] thy herdsand thy flocksmultiply,and thy silverand thy goldis multiplied,and all that thou hast is multiplied;14Then thine heartbe lifted up,and thou forgetthe LORDthy God,which brought thee forthout of the landof Egypt,from the houseof bondage;15Who ledthee through that greatand terriblewilderness,[wherein were] fieryserpents,and scorpions,and drought,where [there was] no water;who brought thee forthwaterout of the rockof flint;16Who fedthee in the wildernesswith manna,which thy fathersknewnot, that he might humblethee, and that he might provethee, to do thee goodat thy latter end;17And thou sayin thine heart,My powerand the mightof [mine] handhath gottenme this wealth.18But thou shalt rememberthe LORDthy God:for [it is] he that giveththee powerto getwealth,that he may establishhis covenantwhich he swareunto thy fathers,as [it is] this day.19And it shall be, if thou do at allforgetthe LORDthy God,and walkafterothergods,and servethem, and worshipthem, I testifyagainst you this daythat ye shall surelyperish.20As the nationswhich the LORDdestroyethbefore your face,so shall ye perish;becauseye would not be obedientunto the voiceof the LORDyour God.
