KJV + Strong's Idolaters to Be Put to Death 1If there ariseamongyou a prophet,or a dreamerof dreams,and giveththee a signor a wonder,2And the signor the wondercome to pass,whereof he spakeunto thee, saying,Let us goafterothergods,which thou hast not known,and let us servethem;3Thou shalt not hearkenunto the wordsof that prophet,or that dreamerof dreams:for the LORDyour Godprovethyou, to knowwhether yelovethe LORDyour Godwith all your heartand with all your soul.4Ye shall walkafterthe LORDyour God,and fearhim, and keephis commandments,and obeyhis voice,and ye shall servehim, and cleaveunto him.5And that prophet,or that dreamerof dreams,shall be put to death;because he hath spokento turn[you] away from the LORDyour God,which brought you outof the landof Egypt,and redeemedyou out of the houseof bondage,to thrustthee out of the waywhich the LORDthy Godcommandedthee to walk in.So shalt thou putthe evilawayfrom the midstof thee. 6If thy brother,the sonof thy mother,or thy son,or thy daughter,or the wifeof thy bosom,or thy friend,which [is] as thine own soul,enticethee secretly,saying,Let us goand serveothergods,which thou hast not known,thou, nor thy fathers;7[Namely], of the godsof the peoplewhich [are] round aboutyou, nighunto thee, or far offfrom thee, from the [one] endof the eartheven unto the [other] endof the earth;8Thou shalt not consentunto him, nor hearkenunto him; neither shall thine eyepityhim, neither shalt thou spare,neither shalt thou concealhim:9But thou shalt surelykillhim; thine handshall be firstupon him to put him to death,and afterwardsthe handof all the people.10And thou shalt stonehim with stones,that he die;because he hath soughtto thrust thee awayfrom the LORDthy God,which brought thee outof the landof Egypt,from the houseof bondage.11And all Israelshall hear,and fear,and shall dono moreanysuch wickednessas this is amongyou. Idolatrous Cities to Be Destroyed 12If thou shalt hear[say] in oneof thy cities,which the LORDthy Godhath giventhee to dwellthere, saying,13[Certain] men,the childrenof Belial,are gone outfrom amongyou, and have withdrawnthe inhabitantsof their city,saying,Let us goand serveothergods,which ye have not known;14Then shalt thou enquire,and make search,and askdiligently;and, behold, [if it be] truth,[and] the thingcertain,[that] suchabominationis wroughtamongyou;15Thou shalt surelysmitethe inhabitantsof that citywith the edgeof the sword,destroying it utterly,and all that [is] therein, and the cattlethereof, with the edgeof the sword.16And thou shalt gatherall the spoilof it into the midstof the streetthereof, and shalt burnwith firethe city,and all the spoilthereof every whit,for the LORDthy God:and it shall be an heapfor ever;it shall not be built again.17And there shall cleavenoughtof the cursed thingto thine hand:that the LORDmay turnfrom the fiercenessof his anger,and shewthee mercy,and have compassionupon thee, and multiplythee, as he hath swornunto thy fathers;18When thou shalt hearkento the voiceof the LORDthy God,to keepall his commandmentswhich I commandthee this day,to do[that which is] rightin the eyesof the LORDthy God. |
