KJV + Strong's Daniel's Vision of a Mighty Man 1In the thirdyearof Cyruskingof Persiaa thingwas revealedunto Daniel,whose namewas calledBelteshazzar;and the thing[was] TRUE,but the time appointed[was] long:and he understoodthe thing,and had understandingof the vision. 2In those daysI Danielwas mourningthreefullweeks.3I ateno pleasantbread,neither camefleshnor winein my mouth,neither did I anointmyself at all,till threewholeweekswere fulfilled.4And in the fourand twentiethdayof the firstmonth,as I was by the sideof the greatriver,which [is] Hiddekel;5Then I lifted upmine eyes,and looked,and behold a certainmanclothedin linen,whose loins[were] girdedwith fine goldof Uphaz:6His bodyalso [was] like the beryl,and his faceas the appearanceof lightning,and his eyesas lampsof fire,and his armsand his feetlike in colourto polishedbrass,and the voiceof his wordslike the voiceof a multitude.7And I Danielalone sawthe vision:for the menthat were with me sawnot the vision;buta greatquakingfellupon them, so that they fledto hidethemselves.8Therefore I was left alone,and sawthis greatvision,and there remainedno strengthin me: for my comelinesswas turnedin me into corruption,and I retainedno strength.9Yet heardI the voiceof his words:and when I heardthe voiceof his words,then was I in a deep sleepon my face,and my facetoward the ground. The Angel's Prophecy of Persia, Greece 10And, behold, an handtouchedme, which setme upon my kneesand [upon] the palmsof my hands.11And he saidunto me, O Daniel,a mangreatly beloved,understandthe wordsthat I speakunto thee, and standupright:for unto thee am I now sent.And when he had spokenthis wordunto me, I stoodtrembling.12Then saidhe unto me, Fearnot, Daniel:for from the firstdaythat thou didst setthine heartto understand,and to chastenthyself beforethy God,thy wordswere heard,and I am comefor thy words.13But the princeof the kingdomof Persiawithstoodme oneand twentydays:but, lo, Michael,oneof the chiefprinces,cameto helpme; and I remainedthere withthe kingsof Persia.14Now I am cometo make thee understandwhat shall befallthy peoplein the latterdays:for yet the vision[is] for [many] days. 15And when he had spokensuch wordsunto me, I setmy facetoward the ground,and I became dumb.16And, behold, [one] like the similitudeof the sonsof mentouchedmy lips:then I openedmy mouth,and spake,and saidunto him that stoodbefore me, O my lord,by the visionmy sorrowsare turnedupon me, and I have retainedno strength.17For howcanthe servantof this my lordtalkwith this my lord?for as for me, straightwaythere remainedno strengthin me, neither is there breathleftin me. 18Then there came againand touchedme [one] like the appearanceof a man,and he strengthenedme,19And said,O mangreatly beloved,fearnot: peace[be] unto thee, be strong,yea, be strong.And when he had spokenunto me, I was strengthened,and said,Let my lordspeak;for thou hast strengthenedme.20Then saidhe, Knowestthou wherefore I comeunto thee? and now will I returnto fightwith the princeof Persia:and when I am gone forth,lo, the princeof Greciashall come.21ButI will shewthee that which is notedin the scriptureof truth:and [there is] nonethat holdethwith me in these things, but Michaelyour prince. |
