David Fetches the Ark
(1 Chronicles 13:1-8)
1Again, Davidgathered together{08676;03254:08686} all [the] chosen[men] of Israel,thirtythousand.2And Davidarose,and wentwith all the peoplethat [were] with him from Baale of Judah,to bring upfrom thence the arkof God,whose nameis calledby the nameof the LORDof hoststhat dwelleth[between] the cherubims.3And they setthe arkof Godupon a newcart,and broughtit out of the houseof Abinadabthat [was] in Gibeah:and Uzzahand Ahio,the sonsof Abinadab,dravethe newcart.4And they broughtit out of the houseof Abinadabwhich [was] at Gibeah,accompanyingthe arkof God:and Ahiowentbeforethe ark.

5And Davidand all the houseof Israelplayedbeforethe LORDon all manner of [instruments made of] firwood,even on harps,and on psalteries,and on timbrels,and on cornets,and on cymbals.
6And when they cameto Nachon'sthreshingfloor,Uzzahput forth[his hand] to the arkof God,and took holdof it; for the oxenshook[it].7And the angerof the LORDwas kindledagainst Uzzah;and Godsmotehim there for [his] error;and there he diedby the arkof God.8And Davidwas displeased,because the LORDhad madea breachupon Uzzah:and he calledthe name of the placePerezuzzahto this day.9And Davidwas afraidof the LORDthat day,and said,How shall the arkof the LORDcometo me?10So Davidwouldnot removethe arkof the LORDunto him into the cityof David:but Davidcarried it asideinto the houseof Obededomthe Gittite.11And the arkof the LORDcontinuedin the houseof Obededomthe Gittitethreemonths:and the LORDblessedObededom,and all his household.
The Ark Brought to Jerusalem

12And it was toldkingDavid,saying,The LORDhath blessedthe houseof Obededom,and all that [pertaineth] unto him, because of the arkof God.So Davidwentand brought upthe arkof Godfrom the houseof Obededominto the cityof Davidwith gladness.13And it was [so], that when they that barethe arkof the LORDhad gonesixpaces,he sacrificedoxenand fatlings.14And Daviddancedbeforethe LORDwith all [his] might;and David[was] girdedwith a linenephod.15So Davidand all the houseof Israelbrought upthe arkof the LORDwith shouting,and with the soundof the trumpet.
Michal's Contempt for David
16And as the arkof the LORDcameinto the cityof David,MichalSaul'sdaughterlookedthrough a window,and sawkingDavidleapingand dancingbeforethe LORD;and she despisedhim in her heart.
17And they broughtin the arkof the LORD,and setit in his place,in the midstof the tabernaclethat Davidhad pitchedfor it: and Davidofferedburnt offeringsand peace offeringsbeforethe LORD.18And as soon as Davidhad made an endof offeringburnt offeringsand peace offerings,he blessedthe peoplein the nameof the LORDof hosts.19And he dealtamong all the people,[even] among the whole multitudeof Israel,as well to the womenas men,to every oneacakeof bread,and a good piece[of flesh], and a flagon[of wine]. So all the peopledepartedevery oneto his house.
20Then Davidreturnedto blesshis household.And Michalthe daughterof Saulcame outto meetDavid,and said,How gloriouswas the kingof Israelto day,who uncoveredhimself to dayin the eyesof the handmaidsof his servants,as oneof the vain fellowsshamelesslyuncoverethhimself!21And Davidsaidunto Michal,[It was] beforethe LORD,which choseme before thy father,and before all his house,to appointme rulerover the peopleof the LORD,over Israel:therefore will I playbeforethe LORD.22And I will yet be more vilethan thus,and will be basein mine own sight:and of the maidservantswhich thou hast spokenof, of them shall I be had in honour.23Therefore Michalthe daughterof Saulhad no childunto the dayof her death.
