(Numbers 26:1-4) 1And the LORDspakeunto Mosesin the wildernessof Sinai,in the tabernacleof the congregation,on the first[day] of the secondmonth,in the secondyearafter they were come outof the landof Egypt,saying,2Takeye the sumof all the congregationof the childrenof Israel,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,with the numberof [their] names,every maleby their polls;3From twentyyearsoldand upward,all that are able to go forthto warin Israel:thou and Aaronshall numberthem by their armies.4And with you there shall be a manof everytribe;every oneheadof the houseof his fathers. The Number of Every Tribe 17And Mosesand Aarontookthese menwhich are expressedby [their] names:18And they assembledall the congregationtogetheron the first[day] of the secondmonth,and they declared their pedigreesafter their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,by their polls.19As the LORDcommandedMoses,so he numberedthem in the wildernessof Sinai. 20And the childrenof Reuben,Israel'seldest son,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,by their polls,every malefrom twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;21Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Reuben,[were] fortyand sixthousandand fivehundred. 22Of the childrenof Simeon,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,those that were numberedof them, according to the numberof the names,by their polls,every malefrom twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;23Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Simeon,[were] fiftyand ninethousandand threehundred. 24Of the childrenof Gad,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;25Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Gad,[were] fortyand fivethousandsixhundredand fifty. 26Of the childrenof Judah,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;27Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Judah,[were] threescore and fourteenthousandand sixhundred. 28Of the childrenof Issachar,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;29Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Issachar,[were] fiftyand fourthousandand fourhundred. 30Of the childrenof Zebulun,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;31Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Zebulun,[were] fiftyand seventhousandand fourhundred. 32Of the childrenof Joseph,[namely], of the childrenof Ephraim,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;33Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Ephraim,[were] fortythousandand fivehundred. 34Of the childrenof Manasseh,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;35Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Manasseh,[were] thirtyand twothousandand two hundred. 36Of the childrenof Benjamin,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;37Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Benjamin,[were] thirtyand fivethousandand fourhundred. 38Of the childrenof Dan,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;39Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Dan,[were] threescoreand twothousandand sevenhundred. 40Of the childrenof Asher,by their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;41Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Asher,[were] fortyand onethousandand fivehundred. 42Of the childrenof Naphtali,throughout their generations,after their families,by the houseof their fathers,according to the numberof the names,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto war;43Those that were numberedof them, [even] of the tribeof Naphtali,[were] fiftyand threethousandand fourhundred. 44These [are] those that were numbered,which Mosesand Aaronnumbered,and the princesof Israel,[being] twelvemen:eachonewas for the houseof his fathers.45So were all those that were numberedof the childrenof Israel,by the houseof their fathers,from twentyyearsoldand upward,all that were able to go forthto warin Israel;46Even all they that were numberedwere sixhundredthousandand threethousandand fivehundredand fifty. Levites Exempted 47But the Levitesafter the tribeof their fatherswere not numberedamongthem.48For the LORDhad spokenunto Moses,saying,49Only thou shalt not numberthe tribeof Levi,neither takethe sumof them amongthe childrenof Israel:50But thou shalt appointthe Levitesover the tabernacleof testimony,and over all the vesselsthereof, and over all things that [belong] to it: they shall bearthe tabernacle,and all the vesselsthereof; and they shall ministerunto it, and shall encampround aboutthe tabernacle.51And when the tabernaclesetteth forward,the Levitesshall take it down:and when the tabernacleis to be pitched,the Levitesshall set it up:and the strangerthat cometh nighshall be put to death.52And the childrenof Israelshall pitch their tents,every manby his own camp,and every manby his own standard,throughout their hosts.53But the Levitesshall pitchround aboutthe tabernacleof testimony,that there be no wrathupon the congregationof the childrenof Israel:and the Levitesshall keepthe chargeof the tabernacleof testimony.54And the childrenof Israeldidaccording to all that the LORDcommandedMoses,so didthey. |
