The Descendants and Cities of Simeon 24The sonsof Simeon[were], Nemuel,and Jamin,Jarib,Zerah,[and] Shaul:25Shallumhis son,Mibsamhis son,Mishmahis son.26And the sonsof Mishma;Hamuelhis son,Zacchurhis son,Shimeihis son.27And Shimeihad sixteensonsand sixdaughters;but his brethrenhad not manychildren,neither did all their familymultiply,like to the childrenof Judah.28And they dweltat Beersheba,and Moladah,and Hazarshual,29And at Bilhah,and at Ezem,and at Tolad,30And at Bethuel,and at Hormah,and at Ziklag,31And at Bethmarcaboth,and Hazarsusim,and at Bethbirei,and at Shaaraim.These [were] their citiesunto the reignof David.32And their villages[were], Etam,and Ain,Rimmon,and Tochen,and Ashan,fivecities:33And all their villagesthat [were] round aboutthe same cities,unto Baal.These [were] their habitations,and their genealogy. 34And Meshobab,and Jamlech,and Joshahthe sonof Amaziah,35And Joel,and Jehuthe sonof Josibiah,the sonof Seraiah,the sonof Asiel,36And Elioenai,and Jaakobah,and Jeshohaiah,and Asaiah,and Adiel,and Jesimiel,and Benaiah,37And Zizathe sonof Shiphi,the sonof Allon,the sonof Jedaiah,the sonof Shimri,the sonof Shemaiah;38These mentionedby [their] names[were] princesin their families:and the houseof their fathersincreasedgreatly. Their Conquest of Gedor 39And they wentto the entranceof Gedor,[even] unto the east sideof the valley,to seekpasturefor their flocks.40And they foundfatpastureand good,and the land[was] wide,and quiet,and peaceable;for [they] of Hamhad dweltthere of old.41And these writtenby namecamein the daysof Hezekiahkingof Judah,and smotetheir tents,and the habitationsthat were foundthere, and destroyedthem utterly unto this day,and dweltin their rooms: because [there was] pasturethere for their flocks.42And [some] of them, [even] of the sonsof Simeon,fivehundredmen,wentto mountSeir,having for their captainsPelatiah,and Neariah,and Rephaiah,and Uzziel,the sonsof Ishi.43And they smotethe restof the Amalekitesthat were escaped,and dweltthere unto this day. |
