David's Prayer of Praise 10Wherefore Davidblessedthe LORDbeforeall the congregation:and Davidsaid,Blessed[be] thou, LORDGodof Israelour father,foreverand ever.11Thine, O LORD,[is] the greatness,and the power,and the glory,and the victory,and the majesty:for all [that is] in the heavenand in the earth[is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom,O LORD,and thou art exaltedas headabove all.12Both richesand honour[come] of thee,and thou reignestover all; and in thine hand[is] powerand might;and in thine hand[it is] to make great,and to give strengthunto all.13Now therefore, our God,we thankthee, and praisethy gloriousname. 14But who [am] I, and what [is] my people,that we should beableto offer so willinglyafter this sort? for all things [come] of thee, and of thine ownhave we giventhee.15For we [are] strangersbeforethee, and sojourners,as [were] all our fathers:our dayson the earth[are] as a shadow,and [there is] none abiding.16O LORDour God,all this storethat we have preparedto buildthee an housefor thine holyname[cometh] of thine hand,and [is] all thine own.17I knowalso, my God,that thou triestthe heart,and hast pleasurein uprightness.As for me, in the uprightnessof mine heartI have willingly offeredall these things: and now have I seenwith joythy people,which are presenthere, to offer willinglyunto thee.18O LORDGodof Abraham,Isaac,and of Israel,our fathers,keepthis for everin the imaginationof the thoughtsof the heartof thy people,and preparetheir heartunto thee:19And giveunto Solomonmy sona perfectheart,to keepthy commandments,thy testimonies,and thy statutes,and to doall [these things], and to buildthe palace,[for] the which I have made provision. 20And Davidsaidto all the congregation,Now blessthe LORDyour God.And all the congregationblessedthe LORDGodof their fathers,and bowed down their heads,and worshippedthe LORD,and the king. (1 Kings 1:32-40) 21And they sacrificedsacrificesunto the LORD,and offeredburnt offeringsunto the LORD,on the morrowafter that day,[even] a thousandbullocks,a thousandrams,[and] a thousandlambs,with their drink offerings,and sacrificesin abundancefor all Israel:22And did eatand drinkbeforethe LORDon that daywith greatgladness.And they made Solomonthe sonof Davidkingthe second time,and anointed[him] unto the LORD[to be] the chief governor,and Zadok[to be] priest.23Then Solomonsat onthe throneof the LORDas kinginstead of Davidhis father,and prospered;and all Israelobeyedhim.24And all the princes,and the mighty men,and all the sonslikewise of kingDavid,submitted themselvesunto Solomonthe king.25And the LORDmagnifiedSolomonexceedinglyin the sightof all Israel,and bestowedupon him [such] royalmajestyas had not been on any kingbeforehim in Israel. (1 Kings 2:10-12) 26Thus Davidthe sonof Jessereignedover all Israel.27And the timethat he reignedover Israel[was] fortyyears;sevenyearsreignedhe in Hebron,and thirtyand three[years] reignedhe in Jerusalem. 28And he diedin a goodold age,fullof days,riches,and honour:and Solomonhis sonreignedin his stead.29Now the actsof Davidthe king,firstand last,behold, they [are] writtenin the bookof Samuelthe seer,and in the bookof Nathanthe prophet,and in the bookof Gadthe seer,30With all his reignand his might,and the timesthat went overhim, and over Israel,and over all the kingdomsof the countries. |
