1So all Israelwere reckoned by genealogies;and, behold, they [were] writtenin the bookof the kingsof Israeland Judah,[who] were carried awayto Babylonfor their transgression.

2Now the firstinhabitantsthat [dwelt] in their possessionsin their cities[were], the Israelites,the priests,Levites,and the Nethinims.3And in Jerusalemdweltof the childrenof Judah,and of the childrenof Benjamin,and of the childrenof Ephraim,and Manasseh;4Uthaithe sonof Ammihud,the sonof Omri,the sonof Imri,the sonof Bani,of the childrenof Pharezthe sonof Judah.5And of the Shilonites;Asaiahthe firstborn,and his sons.6And of the sonsof Zerah;Jeuel,and their brethren,sixhundredand ninety.7And of the sonsof Benjamin;Salluthe sonof Meshullam,the sonof Hodaviah,the sonof Hasenuah,8And Ibneiahthe sonof Jeroham,and Elahthe sonof Uzzi,the sonof Michri,and Meshullamthe sonof Shephathiah,the sonof Reuel,the sonof Ibnijah;9And their brethren,according to their generations,ninehundredand fiftyand six.All these men[were] chiefof the fathersin the houseof their fathers.

The Returning Priests

10And of the priests;Jedaiah,and Jehoiarib,and Jachin,11And Azariahthe sonof Hilkiah,the sonof Meshullam,the sonof Zadok,the sonof Meraioth,the sonof Ahitub,the rulerof the houseof God;12And Adaiahthe sonof Jeroham,the sonof Pashur,the sonof Malchijah,and Maasiaithe sonof Adiel,the sonof Jahzerah,the sonof Meshullam,the sonof Meshillemith,the sonof Immer;13And their brethren,headsof the houseof their fathers,a thousandand sevenhundredand threescore;very ablemenfor the workof the serviceof the houseof God.

The Returning Levites

14And of the Levites;Shemaiahthe sonof Hasshub,the sonof Azrikam,the sonof Hashabiah,of the sonsof Merari;15And Bakbakkar,Heresh,and Galal,and Mattaniahthe sonof Micah,the sonof Zichri,the sonof Asaph;16And Obadiahthe sonof Shemaiah,the sonof Galal,the sonof Jeduthun,and Berechiahthe sonof Asa,the sonof Elkanah,that dweltin the villagesof the Netophathites.

Gatekeepers in Jerusalem

17And the porters[were], Shallum,and Akkub,and Talmon,and Ahiman,and their brethren:Shallum[was] the chief;18Who hitherto [waited] in the king'sgateeastward:they [were] portersin the companiesof the childrenof Levi.19And Shallumthe sonof Kore,the sonof Ebiasaph,the sonof Korah,and his brethren,of the houseof his father,the Korahites,[were] over the workof the service,keepersof the gatesof the tabernacle:and their fathers,[being] over the hostof the LORD,[were] keepersof the entry.20And Phinehasthe sonof Eleazarwas the rulerover them in time past,[and] the LORD[was] with him.21[And] Zechariahthe sonof Meshelemiah[was] porterof the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.22All these [which were] chosento be portersin the gates[were] two hundredand twelve.These were reckoned by their genealogyin their villages,whomDavidand Samuelthe seerdid ordainin their set office.23So they and their children[had] the oversight of the gatesof the houseof the LORD,[namely], the houseof the tabernacle,by wards.24In fourquarterswere the porters,toward the east,west,north,and south.25And their brethren,[which were] in their villages,[were] to comeafter sevendaysfrom timeto timewith them.26For these Levites,the fourchiefporters,were in [their] set office,and were over the chambersand treasuriesof the houseof God.27And they lodgedround aboutthe houseof God,because the charge[was] upon them, and the openingthereof every morning[pertained] to them.

28And [certain] of them had the charge ofthe ministeringvessels,that they should bring them inand outby tale.29[Some] of them also [were] appointedto oversee the vessels,and all the instrumentsof the sanctuary,and the fine flour,and the wine,and the oil,and the frankincense,and the spices.30And [some] of the sonsof the priestsmadethe ointmentof the spices.31And Mattithiah,[one] of the Levites,who [was] the firstbornof Shallumthe Korahite,had the set officeover the things that were madein the pans.32And [other] of their brethren,of the sonsof the Kohathites,[were] over the shewbread,to prepare[it] every sabbath.

33And these [are] the singers,chiefof the fathersof the Levites,[who remaining] in the chambers[were] free{08675;06359>: for they were employed in [that] workdayand night.34These chieffathersof the Levites[were] chiefthroughout their generations;these dweltat Jerusalem.

35And in Gibeondweltthe fatherof Gibeon,Jehiel,whose wife'sname[was] Maachah:36And his firstbornsonAbdon,then Zur,and Kish,and Baal,and Ner,and Nadab,37And Gedor,and Ahio,and Zechariah,and Mikloth.38And MiklothbegatShimeam.And they also dweltwith their brethrenat Jerusalem,over against their brethren.39And NerbegatKish;and KishbegatSaul;and SaulbegatJonathan,and Malchishua,and Abinadab,and Eshbaal.40And the sonof Jonathan[was] Meribbaal:and MeribbaalbegatMicah.41And the sonsof Micah[were], Pithon,and Melech,and Tahrea,[and Ahaz].42And AhazbegatJarah;and JarahbegatAlemeth,and Azmaveth,and Zimri;and ZimribegatMoza;43And MozabegatBinea;and Rephaiahhis son,Eleasahhis son,Azelhis son.44And Azelhad sixsons,whose names[are] these, Azrikam,Bocheru,and Ishmael,and Sheariah,and Obadiah,and Hanan:these [were] the sonsof Azel.
