Stand up and tell them everything that I command you.

Do not be intimidated by them,
Jeremiah is warned against fear, a common human reaction when facing opposition or delivering unpopular messages. This echoes God's assurance to other prophets, such as Ezekiel, who were also called to speak boldly despite potential threats. or I will terrify you before them.
This phrase serves as a stern warning to Jeremiah about the consequences of succumbing to fear. The fear of God, rather than fear of man, is a central biblical principle, reminding Jeremiah that his accountability is ultimately to God. • Like Joshua was told, “Be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:6–7), Jeremiah must embrace divine strength, trusting God’s sufficiency, not his own.

• The phrase signals public visibility and courage. Prophets did not whisper; they “cried aloud” (Isaiah 58:1).

• Standing affirms resolve: “Having done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13).

Be not dismayed.--The repeated calls to courage appear to indicate--like St. Paul's exhortations to Timothy (1Timothy 4:12;1Timothy 6:13;2Timothy 2:3)--a constitutional timidity. We must remember, as some excuse for this, that the reign of Manasseh had shown that the work of the prophet might easily lead to the fate of the martyr (2Kings 21:16). Even Ezekiel, among the remnant of exiles on the banks of Chebar, needed a like encouragement (Ezekiel 2:6). . . .
