The Plot to Kill Jesus
(Matthew 26:1-5; Mark 14:1-2; John 11:45-57)

1And the Feast of UnleavenedBread, called Passover, was drawing near.2And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how the they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people.

3And Satan entered into Judas theone being called Iscariot, being of the number of the Twelve.4And having gone away, he spoke with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them.5And they rejoiced and agreed to give him money.6And he promised, and began seeking opportunity to betray Him to them apart froma crowd.

Preparing the Passover
(Psalm 41:1-13; Matthew 26:17-25; Mark 14:12-21; John 13:18-30)

7And the day of UnleavenedBread came, on which it was necessary for the Passover lamb to be sacrificed.8And He sent Peter and John, having said,“Having gone, prepare the Passover for us, that we might eatit.”

9And they said to Him, “Where do You desire we should prepareit?”

10And He said to them,“Behold, of you having entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house into which he enters,11and you shall say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’12And he will show you a large furnished upper room. Prepareit there.”

13And having gone, they foundit as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.

The Last Supper
(Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34)

14And when the hour was come, He reclined, and the apostles with Him.15And He said to them,“With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.16For I say to you that never again will I eat thereof, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

17And having receivedthe cup, having given thanks, He said,“Take this and divideit among yourselves.18For I say to you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now until the kingdom of God shall come.”

19And having takenthe bread, having given thanks, He brokeit and gave to them, saying,“This is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me,”20and the cup likewise, after having supped, saying,“This cupis the new covenant in My blood, which is being poured out for you.a

21But, behold, the hand of him betraying Meis with Me on the table.22For indeed the Son of Man goes according to that having been determined. But woe to that man by whom He is betrayed.”

23And they began to question among themselves who then of them it might be who is about to do this.

Who is the Greatest?

24And there was also a dispute among them which of them is thought to bethe greatest.25And He said to them,“The kings of the Gentiles rule over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors.26But youshall notbe thus. Instead, the greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and theone leading, as theone serving.27For whois greater, theone reclining or theone serving?Is not theone reclining? But I am in your midst as theOne serving.

28Now you are those having remained with Me in My trials.29And I appoint to you a kingdom, as My Father appointed to Me,30so that you may eat and may drink at My table in My kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial
(Matthew 26:31-35; Mark 14:27-31; John 13:36-38)

31Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have all of you to sift like wheat.32But I begged for you, that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

33And he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death.”

34And He said,“I tell you Peter,the rooster will not crow today until you will deny three times knowing Me.”

35And He said to them,“When I sent you without purse and bag and sandals, did you lack anything?”

And they said, “Nothing.”

36And He said to them,“But now, theone having a purse, let him takeit, and likewise a bag; and theone having no sword, let him sell his cloak and buyone.37For I say to you that this which has been written, it behooves to be accomplished in Me: ‘And He was reckoned withthe lawless.’b For also the things concerning Me have an end.”

38And they said, “Lord, behold, hereare two swords.”

And He said to them,“It is enough.”

Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives
(Matthew 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42)

39And having gone forth, He went according to the custom to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed Him.40And having come to the place, He said to them,“Pray not to enter into temptation.”

41And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and having fallen on the knees, He was praying,42saying,“Father, if You are willing, take away this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

43And an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.44And having been in agony, He was praying more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.c

45And having risen up from the prayer, having come to the disciples, He found them sleeping from the grief.46And He said to them,“Why are you sleeping? Having risen up, pray that you might not enter into temptation.”

The Betrayal of Jesus
(Matthew 26:47-56; Mark 14:43-52; John 18:1-14)

47While He was still speaking, behold, a crowd, and he who is called Judas, one of the Twelve, was going before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him.48And Jesus said to him,“Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

49And those around Him, having seen what would be, said, “Lord, should we strike withthe sword?”50And a certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

51And Jesus answering said,“Allow you thus far!” And having touched the ear, He healed him.

52And Jesus said to those having come out against Him,the chief priests, and captains of the temple and elders,“Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber?53Every day of Me being with you in the temple, you did not stretch out the hands against Me; but this is your hour, and the power of the darkness.”

Peter Denies Jesus
(Matthew 26:69-75; Mark 14:66-72; John 18:15-18)

54And having seized Him, they ledHim away, and ledHim into the house of the high priest. And Peter was following afar off.

55And they having kindled a fire inthe midst of the courtyard, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.56And a certain servant girl, having seen him sitting by the light, and having looked intently on him, said, “This one also was with Him.”

57But he deniedit, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

58And after a little, having seen him, another was saying, “You also are of them.”

But Peter was saying, “Man, I am not.”

59And about one hour having elapsed, a certain other strongly affirmedit, saying, “Of a truth, this one also was with Him; for he is also a Galilean.”

60But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you say.” And immediately while he was speaking, the rooster crowed.61And having turned, the Lord looked at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him,“Beforethe rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”62And having gone forth outside, he wept bitterly.

The Soldiers Mock Jesus
(Isaiah 50:4-11; Matthew 27:27-31; Mark 15:16-20; John 19:1-15)

63And the men who are holding Him began mocking Him, beatingHim.64And having blindfolded Him,d they were questioningHim, saying, “Prophesy, who is theone having struck You?”65And they were saying many other things to Him, blaspheming.

Jesus Faces the Council

66And when it became day, the elderhood of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him into their council, saying,67“If You are the Christ, tell us.”

And He said to them,“If I should tell you, you would not believe,68and if I should askyou, you would not answer.69But from now on the Son of Man will be sitting atthe right hand of the power of God.”

70And they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?”

And He was saying to them,“You say that I am.”

71And they said, “What need do we have of any more witness? For we ourselves have heardit from His mouth.”
