Microsoft Office 2019 is a version ofMicrosoft Office which was released to manufacturing on 24 July 2018, and became available to customers two months later on 24 September 2018. Officially, this version checks forWindows 10 v1809 or later. However, the version check can be bypassed and it is actually compatible with older Windows versions down toWindows 7.

This version also changes the way on how long Microsoft will support the software; instead of 10 years that was on earlier versions of Microsoft Office, Office 2019 will only receive 5 years of mainstream support and 2 years of extended support, adding up to 7 years of support - 3 years less than usual.

It is the last version of Microsoft Office to have an extended support period as its successorOffice 2021 is only supported for 5 years.

Office 2019 shares the same support end date with Office 2016, which is October 14, 2025.

This version is basically the same as Office 2016, they also share the same build number 16.0, and includes all features which are currently available inMicrosoft 365.

All feature updates for Microsoft 365 users between September 2015 - September 2018 (when Office 2016 was the latest) are bundled in this version.

There isn't any MSI version for client apps, only server apps have an MSI version.

This version ships with new fluent icons, which were later backported to Office 2016 version 19xx for Click-to-Run (C2R) installation. For the first time, the icon set is the same on all systems. To comply with the UI language ofmacOS Big Sur, all icons were put in a rounded square with an update released in 2020.
