Thunder forward Jalen Williams continues his rehab from wrist surgery with no set return date, but coach Mark Daigneault says he’s making strong daily progress and is day-to-day.

“Day-to-day, and he’s doing a great job,” Daigneault said before Wednesday’s game, viaJustin Martinez of The Oklahoman. “There’s so much invisible work that goes into a return to play that you guys don’t get the opportunity to see, and we don’t even get the opportunity to see.”

Despite missing one of their top two-way players, the Thunder won Wednesday’s matchup against the Wolves and now have a league-leading 18–1 record.

Williams, who made the All-NBA Third Team and All-Defense Second Team last season, is already ineligible for postseason awards this year because of the number of games he has missed.

Daigneault highlighted Williams’ dedication, saying he arrived at the practice facility at 8:15 a.m. and found the 24-year-old already deep into physical therapy before on-court work.

“That’s the work you have to put in day after day without the immediate carrot of playing when you’re going through a rehab,” Daigneault added.
