"I am excited to play for Olimpia Milano," Gillespie said in a statement on the club's official website. "This club has a strong history of success, and I want to contribute to its future achievements. I feel ready to help the team reach its goals."

Gillespie is no stranger to the EuroLeague, having previously played with Crvena Zvezda in the 2023-24 season and Bayern Munich in 2022-23. Across those two campaigns, he appeared in 62 games, averaging 3.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and a 4.9 PIR.

The 2.08-meter center recently wrapped up his stint in the NBL, where he played his final game for the Breakers last Saturday against the Cairns Taipans. During his time in the league, Gillespie averaged 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds and led the league with 1.8 blocks per game.

Gillespie also brings NBA experience to Milan, having played 29 games split between the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic. In the NBA, he averaged 4.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
