Yvette Kane
Yvette Kane is afederal judge onsenior status on theUnited States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She joined the court in 1998 after PresidentBill Clinton (D) nominated her to the court. Kane served as thechief judge of the district court from 2006 to 2013. She assumed senior status October 11, 2018.[1]
Early life and education
Born in Donaldsonville,Louisiana, Kane graduated from Nicholls State University with her bachelor's degree in 1973 and from Tulane University Law School with herJ.D. in 1976.[1]

PresidentBill Clinton (D) nominated Kane to theUnited States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania June 4, 1998. She was nominated to a seat vacated byEdwin Kosik. TheAmerican Bar Association rated KaneMajority Qualified, Minority Not Qualified for the nomination. TheSenate Judiciary Committee held hearings on Kane's nomination October 6. U.S. Sen.Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) reported her nomination October 8. TheU.S. Senate confirmed Kane by voice vote October 21. She received her commission October 22.[1][2]
Kane served as thechief judge of the district court from 2006 to 2013.[1][2][3]
