Xavier De La Torre is the superintendent of the Ysleta Independent School District. De La Torre was appointed superintendent in March 2014. De La Torre's previous career experience includes working as the superintendent of theSocorro Independent School District and the county superintendent for the Santa Clara County Office of Education inCalifornia.[1]
School board
The Ysleta ISD board of trustees consists of seven members elected to four-year terms. All board members are electedby district.[2]
Elections
Members of the board are elected biennially in May to overlapping four-year terms.
Four school board seats were scheduled to be up for general election onMay 3, 2025, but the election was canceled because every seat was unopposed. The filing deadline for this election wasFebruary 14, 2025.[3]
