State legislative elections in 2014

Elections for all 99 seats in theWisconsin State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 12, 2014. The general election was held onNovember 4, 2014. Thesignature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014.

Following the general election, there was no change to the majority control of theWisconsin State Assembly. The chamber was controlled by theRepublican Party, which increased its holdings from 60 to 63 seats. TheDemocratic Party suffered a net loss of four seats, dropping from 38 to 34 seats. TheIndependent Party increased seats held from one to two.

In 33 (33.3%) of the 99 seats up for election in 2014, there was only one major party candidate running for election. A total of 23 Democrats and 30 Republicans were guaranteed election barring unforeseen circumstances.
