William "Watt" Jones was a2012Democratic candidate forDistrict 40 of theNorth Carolina House of Representatives.
Jones previously ran for the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners in 2009. He served in law enforcement for 20 years and was twice the Chief of Police -- once in Bunn, North Carolina and also in Morrisville, North Carolina. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Wake County Democratic Party.[1]

"To maintain the North Carolina Public Schools as a well funded public school system where all Children can receive a quality and affordable education. Assist small business in growing and thriving in North Carolina and to assist in providing jobs for many out of work residents of North Carolina."

Jones ran in the2012 election forNorth Carolina House of Representatives District 40. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2012. IncumbentMarilyn Avila ran unopposed in the Republican primary. He was defeated by incumbent Avila in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.
