William Bootle
William Augustus Bootle (1902-2005) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.
Bootle was nominated by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on May 3, 1954, to a seat vacated byAbraham Conger; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 18, 1954, and received his commission onMay 20th. He served aschief judge from 1961 until he assumedsenior status onMarch 11, 1972. He served until his death onJanuary 25, 2005. Bootle was succeeded in this position byWilbur Owens.
