Whitman L. Holt is a judge on theUnited States bankruptcy court, Eastern District of Washington. He was appointed to the court on November 1, 2019 for a term of 14 years. The position was previously held by former judgeFrank L. Kurtz, who retired on October 31, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Holt earned his B.A. from Bates College in 2002 and hisJ.D. from Harvard Law School in 2005. While at Harvard, Holt edited the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy.[1]

Career

Holt worked as a partner at Klee, Tuchin, Bogdanoff & Stern LLP in Los Angeles from 2010 until his appointment in 2019. His professional experience also includes working as an associate at Stutman, Treister & Glatt P.C. and serving as a lawyer representative for the Ninth Circuit. He has participated in the National Bankruptcy Conference and co-authored a book on bankruptcy and the U.S. Supreme Court.[1]
