Per Assembly Rule 41, standing committees of theNevada State Assembly are appointed by theAssembly Speaker.[1] Generally, party membership of committees reflects the chamber's partisan breakdown as a whole.[2] The Speaker may appoint alternate members if a committee member is unable to perform their duties.[3]

The Assembly Committee on Ways and Means examines all department budgets, appropriation requests, and appropriation bills. Measures with fiscal notes may also be referred to the Committee for review.[4][5]
