An effort torecall District 1 Councilman Victor Hernandez in Lubbock,Texas from his position was launched in July 2014.[1] As of December 2015, this recall effort appeared to beabandoned and Ballotpedia discontinued active coverage. Leo Flores targeted Hernandez due to his refusal to return phone calls since winning re-election. “I’ve asked him to meet with me about my concerns about my neighborhood and he hasn’t returned any of my calls,” Flores said.[1]
Selectmen response
Hernandez claimed that the recall was due to a difference within the local Democratic Party and not unreturned phone calls. "It really stems from a little bit of a tiff in the Democratic Party," he said.[1]

As of July 30, 2014, the recall had not been officially launched, though Flores created a Facebook page and gained more than 500 supporters.[1]
