Three of the five seats on theCoeur d'Alene Public Schools board of trustees were scheduled to be up forby-district general election onMay 16, 2017, but the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. NewcomerLisa May was elected to the Zone 1 seat that was leftopen when incumbent Chista Hazel did not file to run for re-election.John Rubert initially filed to run against May in the election, but he withdrew from the race. IncumbentsDave Eubanks andTom Hearn, the only candidates to file for the Zone 4 and 5 seats, respectively, were re-elected to the board by default.[1][2][3][4]
