Todd Prichard
Todd Prichard (Democratic Party) was a member of theIowa House of Representatives, representingDistrict 52. He assumed office on January 1, 2013. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Prichard (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to theIowa House of Representatives to representDistrict 52. He won in the general election onNovember 3, 2020.
Prichard served asstate House minority leader from 2019 to 2021.[1] He previously served asassistant minority leader.
Biography
Todd Prichard was raised in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Davenport public schools, he attended the University of Iowa and participated in the Army ROTC program. Prichard was commissioned into the Regular Army as an Infantry Lieutenant. He was deployed with the First Cavalry Division as a rifle platoon leader to Kuwait as part of Operation Desert Spring. After returning to Iowa, he joined the 1/133 Infantry Battalion of the Iowa Army National Guard in Dubuque and started law school at the University of Iowa. During his time with the National Guard, he was deployed to Egypt for six months as part of an international peacekeeping force and later as Company Commander of the 1/133rd in Iraq. As of 2019, Prichard continued to serve in the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.[2]
After completing law school, Todd and his wife, Ann, moved to Charles City, where he started working as an attorney. He opened his own general practice law firm and also served as the Assistant Floyd County Attorney.[3]

Prichard won election in thespecial election forIowa House of Representatives District 52. The seat was vacant followingBrian Quirk's (D) resignation on November 28, 2012, to take a job as general manager of the New Hampton Municipal Light Plant. He had just won re-election on November 6. Prichard defeatedDennis Litterer (R) andCraig Clark (I) in the special election on January 22, 2013.[12][13][14][15][16]
