Tim Golden is a formerRepublican member of theGeorgia State Senate, representingDistrict 8 from 1999 to 2015. Golden did not seek re-election in 2014.

Golden served in theGeorgia House of Representatives from 1990 to 1998.

Biography

Golden earned his B.S. in American History/Political Science from Valdosta State University in 1977. His professional experience includes working as a Staff Aide for former United States Senator Sam Nunn, Staff Aide for former United States Congressman Charles Hatcher, owner/founder of Golden Printing of Valdosta, and Mortgage Broker/co-owner of Beacon Hill Financial.

Party switch

Golden served as aDemocrat untilswitching parties following his re-election in the 2010 general election. He stated, “I am changing my party affiliation in order to better represent the views of the majority of my constituents and my own conservative, pro-business philosophy."^[1]
