Candidate Connection

Susan Manchester participated inBallotpedia's candidate survey on March 31, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Susan Manchester's responses follow below.[3]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Pro-Life

2) Pro-Second Amendment
3) Cutting Spending/Lowering Taxes[4][5]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

When I ask voters what they think is the number one issue facing Ohio, the top two answers I get are workforce development and the opioid epidemic. It is critical that we develop a sustainable workforce to meet employers' demands, and that begins at the education level. The opioid epidemic has also crushed our workforce potential. We must ensure that the next generation knows the opportunities available to them, and is equipped to successfully enter the workforce.Cite error: Invalid<ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[5]

Scorecards

Ascorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
