Thesignature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014.Keith Simpson andLouise Graham were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbentSteve Schmidt andHarold B. Parker were unopposed in the Republican primary. Simpson, Graham, Schmidt and Parker faced off in the general election.[5] The two Republicans were victorious over the two Democrats, with Parker and incumbent Schmidt defeating Simpson and Graham in the general election.[6]
