Sterling Johnson
Sterling Johnson, Jr. was afederal judge for theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Johnson was nominated by PresidentGeorge H.W. Bush on May 17, 1991, to a seat vacated byJoseph McLaughlin; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 27, 1991, and received commission onJuly 2, 1991. He assumedsenior status onJune 1, 2003. His service ended on October 10, 2022, upon his death.[1][2]
Education
Johnson earned his B.A. andLL.B. from Brooklyn College in 1963 and 1966, respectively.[1]
Military service
Johnson served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955.[1]
