Solomon Adesanya is a husband and a father of two children in Cobb County public schools. Solomon is a small business owner in Cobb County and is a resident of Marietta. He attended Georgia State University master's of Public Policy with scholarly in-depth on how policy shapes our society.
  • Teachers and schools have traditionally been on the front lines for students. For the past two years, teacher shortages have worsened due to a lack of support, resources, and adequate compensation. I will support legislation that ensures educators are paid just like other top professions so we can continue to attract, retain, and develop effective teachers and leaders.
  • Georgia is one of the 14 states that has not adopted the expansion of Medicaid eligibility. In Georgia, many adults do not qualify for Medicaid. Adults between ages 19 and 64 without dependent children cannot get Medicaid coverage, and adults with dependents need to make below about $7,000 a year for a family of three to qualify. There is no convincing logic behind such a policy.
  • Hate has caused many problems in our society and hasn't solved one yet. We have to change the structures and the systems that foster hate crimes and other forms of discrimination. Keeping our communities safe is at the top of my priorities.
We've had the same funding formula for our public schools in Georgia for over 30 years. Georgia is one of only eight states in the U.S. that does not provide additional funding specifically to educate students living in poverty. In other states, funding reforms of the last 30 years have increased opportunities for lower-income schools and improved student achievement. My passion for quality public education is a driving force. I will fight every day to ensure all kids have a space to blossom.

Scorecards

See also:State legislative scorecards andState legislative scorecards in Georgia

Ascorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
