Samuel Hitchcock
Samuel Hitchcock (1755-1813) was afederal judge on theUnited States Circuit Court for the Second Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the District of Vermont.

Judicial career
Second Circuit
Hitchcock was nominated to the Second Circuit by PresidentJohn Adams on February 18, 1801. He was confirmed by the Senate onFebruary 20, 1801, and received commission that same day. He served until the court was abolished onJuly 1, 1802.
District of Vermont
Hitchcock was nominated to the District of Vermont by PresidentGeorge Washington on December 27, 1793. He was confirmed by the Senate onDecember 30, 1793, and received commission on January 28, 1794.[1] He served on this court untilFebruary 20, 1801. Hitchcock was succeeded in this position byElijah Paine.
