Rufus Edward Foster
Rufus Edward Foster (1871-1942) was afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Judicial career
Fifth Circuit
Foster was nominated to the Fifth Circuit by PresidentCalvin Coolidge on January 3, 1925 to fill a seat vacated byAlexander Campbell King. He was confirmed by the Senate onJanuary 13, 1925, and received commission that same day. He served until his death onAugust 23, 1942.[1]
Eastern District of Louisiana
Foster was nominated to the Eastern District of Louisiana by PresidentTheodore Roosevelt on January 22, 1909 to fill a seat vacated byEugene Davis Saunders. He was confirmed by the Senate onFebruary 2, 1909, and received commission that same day. He served on this court untilJanuary 13, 1925.[1] Foster was succeeded in this position byCharlton Reid Beattie.
