Roy Shelbourne
Roy Mahlon Shelbourne (1890-1974) was afederal judge on theUnited States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
Shelbourne was nominated to the Western District of Kentucky by PresidentHarry Truman on January 17, 1946, to a seat vacated byShackelford Miller; he was confirmed by the Senate on February 5, 1946, and received commission onFebruary 8, 1946. From 1948-1960, he served as thechief judge. He assumedsenior status onNovember 1, 1964. He served the Western District of Kentucky until his death onDecember 29, 1974.[1] Shelbourne was succeeded in this position byJames Gordon.
