Campaign website

Cruz's campaign website stated the following:

Dane County Tax Dollar Waste Alert

Responsible Justice, Responsible Spending

Dear Neighbor,

I’m running for Dane County Board because District 15 deserves responsible leadership and respect for our tax dollars. That’s why I’m concerned about the County’s new Community Justice Council (CJC) Strategic Plan.

While the plan is filled with lofty language about reform and collaboration, it largely expands bureaucracy instead of delivering measurable results. It prioritizes new committees, workgroups, pilot programs, consultants, and administrative coordination—but offers no firm cost limits, no clear savings, and no benchmarks tied to improved public safety.

Even worse, many of these initiatives duplicate work already handled by existing agencies like Human Services, the Sheriff’s Office, and the courts. Rather than streamlining government, the plan adds layers of oversight and new positions, making it harder to track accountability when costs rise or programs fail.

District 15 residents are already dealing with rising property taxes, housing costs, and inflation. Now is not the time for open-ended plans that emphasize process over outcomes. We need practical, efficient solutions that use existing resources wisely and focus on results—not more bureaucracy.

As your County Supervisor, I will push for fiscal restraint, transparency, and policies that deliver real value to taxpayers. If you agree that Dane County can do better, I’d be honored to earn your support.

Sincerely,

Rick Cruz

Candidate, Dane County Board – District 15

My Commitment to District 15

As your Dane County Supervisor, I will put District 15 taxpayers first. I will ask hard questions, demand transparency, and oppose open-ended spending that doesn’t deliver real value. Responsible justice reform must go hand in hand with responsible budgeting.
