Rhode Island Suffrage, Proposal 1 (1973)
TheRhode Island Suffrage, Proposal 1 was on the ballot inRhode Island onNovember 6, 1973, as aconvention referred constitutional amendment. It wasapproved. The amendment set voting and residency qualifications, including a minimum age of 18 years in accordance with the recently-passedTwenty-sixth Amendment to theUnited States Constitution. It also barred those convicted of a felony from voting while serving their sentences.[1]
