Biography
Rebecca Kassay was born in Stony Brook, New York. Kassay earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, New Paltz in 2010. Her career experience includes working in public service. As of 2024, Kassay was affiliated with the Rotary Club of Port Jefferson, Montessori Model United Nations, and the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce.[1]

My public service record underscores my dedication to fostering connections, addressing concerns, and advocating for an environmentally and economically resilient future. My campaign reflects my belief in the importance of representatives who bring practical, local experience to the decision-making dialogues in Albany.- As a small business owner, a homeowner, and Deputy Mayor of Port Jeff Village, I have been working to revive blighted commercial areas with the goals of supporting economic growth, creating local jobs, providing affordable housing, and bolstering the tax base. As your Assemblywoman, I will continue to revitalize our Main Streets and confront Long Island’s cost of living crisis.
- For over a decade, I have navigated local, state, and federal agencies alongside nonprofit organizations and community groups to tackle our environmental issues. This experience empowers me to enter the Assembly on day-one ready to continue proactively planning for climate resilience, protecting open space, addressing flooding, and improving Long Island’s water quality.
- Healthcare is a human right, but like so many things in New York, it’s not affordable. Like many small business owners and families, my husband and I spent years burdened by the dysfunction of the NYS health plan marketplace, compelling me to fight for affordable, accessible physical and mental healthcare for all New Yorkers.
