Phillip Forman
Phillip Forman (1895-1978) was afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Judicial career
Third Circuit
Forman was nominated to the Third Circuit by PresidentDwight Eisenhower on February 9, 1959 to replaceAlbert Branson Maris. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 9th, and received commission onSeptember 10, 1959. OnMarch 31, 1961, he assumedsenior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death onAugust 17, 1978.[1]
District of New Jersey
Forman was nominated to the District of New Jersey by PresidentHerbert Hoover on June 11, 1932 to replaceWilliam Nelson Runyon. He was confirmed by the Senate on June 23rd, and received commission onJune 25th. From 1951 to 1959, he was thechief judge. He served on this court untilSeptember 20, 1959, when he was appointed to the Third Circuit. Forman was succeeded in this position byArthur Lane.
