Peter Woodbury
Peter Woodbury (1899-1970) was afederal judge for theUnited States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit. He joined the court in 1941 after an appointment fromFranklin Delano Roosevelt. At the time of appointment, he served on theNew Hampshire Supreme Court. He served as chief judge from1959-1964 before retiring on December 31, 1964. He served until his death in 1970.[1]

Judicial career
First Circuit
Woodbury was nominated to the First Circuit by PresidentFranklin Delano Roosevelt on January 31, 1941, to a seat vacated byScott Wilson; he was confirmed by theSenate on February 18, 1941, and received commission onFebruary 25. He served aschief judge from 1959 until he assumedsenior status onDecember 31, 1964. He served until his death onNovember 17, 1970. His vacancy was filled byEdward McEntee.[1]
