Emmet County native Parker Fairbairn announces his candidacy to represent Michigan's 107th House District

The district includes Emmet, Charlevoix, and part of Mackinac, Chippewa, and Cheboygan counties.

For five generations, the Fairbairn family has lived, worked, and served the community right here in northern Michigan and have instilled in each generation our shared conservative values.

With his experience in business and deep respect for the Constitution and our conservative values, Parker is the leader we need to represent our District and put Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula back on the map.
  • I'm running because we need a Representative who shows up. We need a Representative who will avoid the drama and do the job the people sent them to do.
  • Putting Michigan - and America first is a no-brainer for me. As a fifth generation northern Michigander, my family knows what it takes to run and operate businesses, and we have seen the negative effects that radical left policies have on our families and our livelihoods.
  • Northern Michigan deserves better.Lansing has corrupted our politicians and the 107th District has taken the brunt of that corruption. It's time to put an end to that now. We need common sense leadership and a Representative who will show up for our District, fight for our values and stand up for our District. I'm ready for the fight. I'm ready to represent you in Lansing and put our District back on the map.

I am a lifelong resident of northern Michigan and my family has been in the Alanson and Harbor Springs area for 5 generations, serving our community and running a variety of successful small businesses. I have a strong desire to listen and serve, and my roots run deep in this community. That is why I am so passionate about representing our northern Michigan values in Lansing. I appreciate so many of the things we know and love about life "up north": the quaint small-town feel of our municipalities, the magnificent beauty of our land and waters, and our Northern Michigan values. My devotion to the area comes with big ideas, too. I want to see our economy continue to grow. I want to preserve our way of life while also expanding economic opportunities.I represent new blood with fresh ideas that will spur economic growth, secure our elections, and protect the backbone of our economy – our small businesses. Our state and country’s future depends on our ability to better engage the next generation in government and at the election booth, and I aspire to energize my peers in these efforts.
  • Truly make a difference in the 107th district.
  • Engage the conservative youth.
  • Running on the principles of small business, small government, and small taxes.
Appropriations and Michigan Competitiveness.

Scorecards

Ascorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
