Three ballot measures were certified for theNovember 4, 2014, ballot in the state ofOklahoma. All three wereapproved.

The2014 legislative session began onFebruary 3 and concluded onMay 23, 2014. Threelegislatively referred constitutional amendments appeared on the November ballot, addressing theadministration of government,taxes andveterans. At least five other potentiallegislatively referred constitutional amendments failed to make the ballot.


Noinitiatives appeared on the November 4, 2014, ballot. Initiative supporters were required to submit155,216 valid signatures within 90 days of the potential measure's initial filing. No initiative campaigns successfully submitted enough signatures to refer measures to the ballot.

Historical facts

  • Between 1990 and 2013, an average of six measures appeared on the even-numbered year ballots in Oklahoma. Therefore, 2014 was a below-average year based on the number of certified measures.
  • From 1990 to 2014, the number of measures on statewide even-year ballots ranged from two to 11.
  • Between 1990 and 2014, 64 of 79, or 81 percent, of Oklahoma ballot measures were approved by voters.
  • Conversely, 15 of 79, or 19 percent, of measures were defeated.
