Ohio Bank Taxation, Amendment 3 (October 1857)
TheOhio Bank Taxation Amendment, also known asAmendment 3, was on theOctober 13, 1857 ballot inOhio as alegislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it wasdefeated. The measure would have provided that all property employed in banking be taxed in a manner equal to that imposed on the property of individuals.[1]
