Anonprofit organization does not distribute surplus revenues as profits or dividends; instead, it uses these revenues for its self-preservation, expansion, or plans. Nonprofit organizations in the United States are regulated under Section501(c) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Nonprofits have controlling members or boards. Some have paid staff, including management, while others employ unpaid volunteers.[1][2][3]
